June 6th is the Day of Days. Same date; six different years, the Time Patrol must save our timeline from the shadow by preserving our past to protect our timeline from annihilation. History is made by ordinary people doing extraordinary things. The fact that often history doesn't record the heroics of these people doesn't alter that.
The missions on June 6th range from
AD 1944 Parachuting in behind the beaches of Normandy and linking up with the Resistance to insure the last good war ends the way history records.
478 BC At the Pythian Games in Greece in AD 478 where art and war merge.
AD 452 A monster's lair in AD 452 where a man becomes the legend of Beowulf.
AD 1843 At West Point, where a middling cadet, small in stature, named Ulysses S. Grant is trying to survive and graduate, with his curious brain that mixes war and art.
AD 1998 In a secret nuclear weapons depot in Pakistan, where the saber-rattling of nuclear tests is getting ready to escalate into Armageddon; a war to end all wars.
And, strangest of all, a mission thousands of years into pre-history, to the day Art is born.
It is up to the Time Patrol to send an agent back to six different years on June 6th and make sure our timelines stay intact!
DDay Time Patrol (Audible Audio Edition) Bob Mayer Eric G Dove Robert J Mayer Books
A very interesting book dealing with the concept that numerous paradigm shifting events occurred over time on the same calendar date. The theory is that other forces are trying to change the actual outcomes of those events to the detriment of the world. So, the Time Patrol sends a rep to each event to make sure the "correct" thing happens for the respective event. Kind of wish the author would have expanded on that theory a bit, describing what would have happened that would have been so very bad if the time patrol had not entered the scene? For example would WWII have ended differently because a specific railroad section had not been blown? I suspect that, since I had not read any of the other books in the series, that all that may have been explained somewhere and sometime. Anyway, very good book that I recommend.Product details

DDay Time Patrol (Audible Audio Edition) Bob Mayer Eric G Dove Robert J Mayer Books Reviews
Each time I think I understand I am reminded that the author has a great imagination. Another well written story line that allows the imagination to run out into the distance and the snap you back to the here and now. Love the series!
The shadow is upto his old tricks trying to Change history and erase our time line. D-day, art and Beowulf are some of his targets.
Bob Mayer's spin on the time travel genre is fresh and surprisingly original, with the deep historical back stories that hooked me on Poul Anderson's classic Time Patrol series when I was a much younger bunny. Bravo Bob!
A fun read about six historical days, on the same date, but spread across centuries. Read these Nightstalker series first to understand the characters. These are complex interwoven stories that span multiple books. Each one can stand on it's own, but the experience is better in sequence. Goodbye Mac.
A group dedicated to preventing the Shadows from damaging history to end the current timeline. The individual actions take place as the book marches on so the reader should follow each story closely as they unfold. This is a feast for us history geeks!
This is a strong book. The Time Patrol has returned from the, er, last time damaged, wounded, but still trying. The Shadow is still trying too. Each individual ‘day’ in gets more complicated and challenging. There’s more going on than just black hats and white hats fighting the same battle in different loci. There are other players that show up from other timelines, some belong to the Shadow and some are trying to fight against the chaos of the Shadow. The question from the previous books is still there What is the Shadow trying to accomplish? What does it gain from disrupting other timelines? Again, like the previous books, this one is not a cartoon; there are consequences to the individuals in the story. There is loss, and bravery, and growth.
And, yes, I received a copy for an honest review, but I’d be giving an honest review whether the book was free or not.
Loved it. Multiple timelines, this one and probably others are being attacked. don't know by who, why, from where. Can't attack them, all we can do is try to stop them here in our time line. Attacks come as 6 attempts
to change our timeline on same date but different years and last 24 hours.. No other info, so the good guys (ours) operating blind to prevent history from being changed, or timeline destroyed. Loved it. Learned a lot of details about history, fast moving. Characters fully developed. I recommend the previous stories...Nightstalkers.
Haven't had the time to get Area 51 or Atlantis series, but will.
